Duck Hunt

Duck Hunt is a shooting game where players are tasked with hitting moving ducks using a light gun or on-screen cursor. Ducks appear in different flight patterns, sometimes flying high and fast, other times moving slowly and low. Each round challenges the player to hit a set number of ducks using a limited number of shots. Success means moving on to the next round with increased difficulty, while failure ends the session. The core mechanic focuses on timing and accuracy rather than volume of fire.

Familiar Setting, Changing Patterns

At the start of each round, a dog jumps into the tall grass to startle the ducks into flight. Ducks appear individually or in pairs, requiring the player to shift attention quickly and react to different speeds and angles. The dog reappears when ducks are missed, laughing at the player’s mistake. This creates a loop of pressure and performance, where even a single missed duck can impact progress. Although the background remains the same, the unpredictability of flight keeps the gameplay from feeling repetitive.

Modes and Challenge Scaling

The game includes multiple modes, including a clay shooting version where players must hit fast-moving targets launched into the sky. Each mode operates with the same shooting mechanic but alters the rhythm and type of challenge. As rounds continue, targets become faster and appear more erratically, increasing the need for precise control. With simple visuals and responsive mechanics, Duck Hunt remains focused on skill, rewarding players who can maintain consistency across increasingly demanding rounds.
